There are many tips to give to all the girls who are preparing for their big day but the most important of them is that comfort is the key to satisfaction. We spoke with professional makeup artist Aby, so she could give us her most important tips:

Aby: I tell them that the most advisable thing is that the makeup is timeless, that it works now but also that you still look beautiful in 30 years when you look at the photos of your wedding. Don't look for makeup that is in fashion in the year you get married because later you may regret it. Now, the timeliness of the makeup and the hairstyle is important but also that you feel comfortable, that you feel like yourself. We as makeup artists are here to advise depending on the type of eyes, type of face, type of lips, also taking into account the harmony of the dress, the veil, the style of the wedding, but the final decision is yours.

Here are some tips I give my brides before the big day:

1. Make-up and hair trial. During the trial, the bride and the make-up artist get to know each other and make a connection. We begin to understand what they want, what they are like and what they like, as well as analyzing their face type and being able to make recommendations. Something very important is that they don't settle for anything, since they have to look the way they really want to look that day.
2. It is recommended to do the bridal fitting on the day of your last dress fitting, as you can go and see the complete look.
3. It is advisable to have earrings, necklace and headdress on the same day of the fitting. I recommend having two headdresses to make the decision, unless you are already very sure which one you want, the best recommendation is those from Atelier Boldó
4. Take care of your skin, especially your face. If you've always done this, congratulations! If not, start from the day you get engaged. Body moisturizer will become your best friend, as well as sunscreen on your face, removing your makeup every night and moisturizing your skin. It helps to drink a lot of water and visit the dermatologist at least 3 months before to check any skin issues.
5. If you are going to dye your hair, do it a week before at the latest. This way you have time to touch up anything you don't like before the big day.
6. If you want to be tanned, don't do it in the sun. Remember that your skin is the protagonist that day and you have to avoid burns, dehydration and peeling due to sunburned skin. The best advice for this case is to get the airbrush tan 3 days before to let it work and to have the desired color on the day of the ceremony. When you go to get this tan, you have to wear very comfortable clothes without straps so that they don't mark your skin.
7. If you want wavy hairstyles, avoid hair straightening treatments.
8. If you are going to have a facial cleansing, it should be done a maximum of one week before, as nerves could cause changes in your skin.
9. If you don't hire a makeup artist for your party touch-up, you should bring a mattifying powder, blush and lipstick, although I'm sure we'll always do the best job.
10. Timeless makeup. Eye shadows in neutral colors, such as brown, champagne, pale pink… Lips in pale pink, nude (it is important that the nude is in harmony with the skin so that they do not look pale). For blush, subtle colors such as salmon, burnt pink or brown, it has to be very well blended as well as the contouring. And the eyelashes must always be present.
